Jesus' Gentle Way

Scripture Verses
Zachariah 9:9 (NIV)

9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!
       Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your king [a] comes to you,
       righteous and having salvation,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Devotion
Rejoice greatly! As we encounter our King we should remember to rejoice greatly always. He comes to us in many forms and sometimes at times we are not expecting Him. He comes to us in humble ways and is righteous and having salvation. When the King arrives sometimes we think of grand entrances and much fanfare. Jesus came to us in simple ways and without fanfare. He shows us He is ready to meet us at whatever level we are, and without a grand entrance. When we seek Him, He is there and always ready with His rightness and salvation. We should always be ready and seek His entrance wherever it might be. We too should remember His gentleness when He comes into our lives.

This is how we should be with our Christian Brothers and Sisters, and whenever we come into contact with non-believers. Go with gentleness and with God’s righteousness and salvation.

Prayer
Dear God help us bring your rightness and salvation in the most gentle ways and be our strength in doing your work.
Amen.
