Youth Global Outreach

Compassion International
Since April of 2007, the youth of Mt. Auburn have been supporting a sponsorship ministry through Compassion International. The youth give $2 each week to provide food, clothing and education to deliver the message of Christ to three specific children in various countries living in poverty.  The youth write letters to the children and receive letters and pictures in return.  This ministry costs $32 a month per sponsored child, but because of their faithful support, we are now able to send an additional $30 a month to Compassion’s AIDS Initiative.  For more information about Compassion’s ministry, visit: http://www.compassion.com

World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine
26,000 children under the age of 5 die everyday from hunger or other preventable causes.  Each September since 2007, the youth have participated in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine.  This event is an international youth movement to fight hunger and increase the awareness of issues like AIDS and extreme poverty.  Students and adults alike fast for 30 hours (and starting in July) raise funds to help feed and care for children around the world.  By sacrificing and serving others, we learn to see beyond ourselves and see the world as Christ sees it.  For more information on World Vision or the 30-Hour Famine, visit:
