Women's Ministries

How would you describe yourself? A wife? A mother? A working woman? A homemaker? A retiree?  A sister?  A daughter?  No matter.  God sees you as a beautiful and spiritual woman and He hungers for a relationship with you. Women who want to study God's word and discover what He has prepared in advance for us will find friendship, acceptance and community in these cross generational groups. Women will find support for one another here as they grow together in the Lord. The current groups and times they are meeting are below. For more information on any of the groups and what they are currently studying, please contact Myrna Lorenz at 317.535.8555 ext. 1303 or myrnal@mtuaburnumc.org.

Moms and More
Whether you are a working mom or a stay-at-home mom, making time for yourself and your spiritual life is often hard to do. We know that if we take this time, our families will benefit as much as we do.  Moms and More Bible Studies are for busy moms, who want to find out what God has to say in his Word as well as to fellowship with other moms.

Moms and More—Daytime (Breaking for the Summer now...)
This group meets Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Teen Center Room 208. Childcare is provided. For more information on this group, contact: Tonya Overton (859-7539); Heather Bonser (865-1389); or Melissa Truelove (865-9863).

Is UMW Calling You?
Are you looking for a way to connect to other women? Do you want to know women who share your beliefs, your interests, your love of the Lord? Do you want to have a little fun? Consider joining one of Mt. Auburn’s women’s circles through United Methodist Women.

Mt. Auburn currently has three different circles. Besides organizing events for the entire church, like the UMW Mission Breakfasts or Women’s Retreat, each UMW group generally meets once a month in member homes or at the church. There is fellowship and generally a program or Bible study at each meeting. Each circle supports various mission projects as well as supporting missions of the larger organized unit of UMW through annual pledges.  Below are dates and times each circle meets.

  • Agape Circle—Meets 10 a.m., 3rd Tuesday of each month
  • Friendship Circle—Meets 7 p.m., 2nd Friday of each month (no meetings in June, July and August)
  • Shalom Circle—Meets 7 p.m., 2nd Monday of each month

Women’s Quilting Group
If quilting is your thing, join this group! They meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the library. They make beautiful quilts that are given to new parents, shut-ins, and others that need a warm reminder that they are loved.  Contact Pat Hertel for more information (885-7179)
